I’m back! 🤗Like promised, I searched for my old tamas (like, the ones I got about 12 years ago), when visiting my grandma and indeed I found my beloved Pocket Puppy and my P1/P2.
… well, or whatever was left of latter:

So this is what happened:
The first Bandai tama I got was a dark blue P2. I loved its colors, but back then, I was super disappointed with the characters, since they didn’t look like the ones from the advertisings (the P1 ones) at all. It took me a couple of months to finally get my hands on a P1, but unfortunately the only color available then was pink. And as a 12y old kid I loathed the color pink.
Nontheless I raised an adorable Mametchi on my brand new P1, later followed by pretty much all of the other characters (including the secret character Bill), but its color just wouldn’t stop bothering me, so (having already studied the insides of my P2) I decided to try my hands on some tama surgery.
And yeah, I actually did manage to implant the insides of my P1 into the shell of my P2 and vice versa, although one vertical line of pixels was missing on one of their screens from then on. Also each of the tamas lost one screw. So, prefering the P1 over the P2 anyways, I took latter’s last screw and used it for the (now blue) P1.
Unfortunately, for the life of me, I can’t remember what happened to this P1. It must’ve gone lost together with my Pocket Turtle and the super needy Alien v-pet :/
But well, as I already said, the pink tama wasn’t the only thing I found.
So this is, how a Pocket Puppy is supposed to look like:

You might have already guessed, that I loved to practice (insanely bad) modding as a kid, so my Pocket Puppy didn’t look anything like that, when I found it. Instead, remains of black and red and green permament markers were smeared all over it ^^’
I inserted a new battery and the screen lit up, I could hear a faint bark and shortly after a little puppy appeared. But as soon as I pressed a button, it disappeared again.
I pressed reset and tried again with a different button - the same :/
So, hoping to maybe stumble over sth obviously wrong I could fix, I opened my Pocket Puppy up…

… and used the opportunity to try and clean up its outside front from the permanent marker smears with some nail polish remover. Since everything else looked fine, I screwed it back together afterwards and - hoping for some good luck - tried again to run it.
The puppy appeared again…

… but also disappeared again, as soon as I pressed a button :/
Does anyone have some experience with glitches like this? Or maybe even a tip for me to fix it? ;__;
I’d really really love to run and log my Pocket Puppy…

Meanwhile, baby Muto first evolved into Hoshitchi…

… and then into Mikazukitchi:

Here its stats right now:
- Hungry: ❤❤❤❤❤
- Happy: ❤❤❤❤❤
- Bonding: 30%

Yes! I started up my Wies'n Goscherl again!
I opened it up beforehand, though, to check for lose screws, so it won’t reset if I grip the shell too hard, and so far it seems to have worked 😊
My baby kitten…

… savely evolved into a teenage cat already:

Mikazukitchi soon evolved into Sunnytchi:

I married her off to an adorable little Furikotchi and they’re now parents of a Sakuramotchi, Mousetchi and Tororotchi.
The family’s stats right now:
- Hungry: ❤❤❤❤O
- Happy: ❤❤❤❤❤
- Bonding: 0%
I think I’ll remove the batteries later tonight and maybe start up my V4 od V4.5 within the next couple of days :)

I promised more pictures, as soon as my kitty evolved, and here they are 😘
Here’s grown up kitty sneaking around in her little house and meowing at me:

Here she’s eating…

… playing rat chase…

… being happy after winning…

… and here are her stats:

age, weight, hunger, happiness and discipline.
If there’s one thing about that pet I don’t like, it’s that I can’t pause it.
I left open the clock screen - nope, kitty was still hungry and sad, when I came home from work.
Same result, when I switched to the time setting mode and left it there.
:/
When I woke up the morning after having taken the pictures above, kitty had already left me.
There was a black curtain on the screen, and upon pressing a button it lifted, revealing kitty’s age and a “Bye Bye!”
I removed the batteries now.
